About Sofia
The unintended expatriate blogger behind NirelSolVakenzi

Hello, I'm Sofia
I work as a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Madrid, Spain.
A few years back I moved here with my family, and what began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn't part of the grand plan. As with many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The initial months were intense — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Daily chores seemed more tricky than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning on the job. Gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built NirelSolVakenzi
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to close that gap—practical guidance grounded in real life in Spain.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Practical insights from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- An official tourism authority resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Spain continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, please feel free to get in touch.
Best regards,
Sofia
